" Spooky dark magic, madness, existentialism...I can see how this has influenced so many modern horror writers. Also, I now understand what critics mean when they refer to writing as "Lovecraftian": Thick and chewy overwritten descriptions abound!

    Better than I expected. "

" This was actually my first time exposed to either of these stories, and let me tell you that this audio format is excellent. The reader had the perfect voice for portraying these erie tales of horrors from beyond our world. I can't wait to try volume 2. "

About the Author

H. P. Lovecraft (1890–1937) was born in Providence, Rhode Island, where he lived most of his life. His relatively small corpus of work—three short novels and about sixty short stories—has nevertheless exercised a broad influence on subsequent writing in the field. In fact, he is widely regarded as one of the most influential horror writers of the twentieth century.

About the Narrator

David Ian Davies is a product of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Emigrating to California early in life, he did many Shakespearean plays at the Globe and other theaters in Hollywood. He has been devoted to voice-over work for many years.
