" My mom has been begging me to read this book for nearly a decade. I picked it up because I thought it would be a good choice of a book to read to my friend Faye, who is 87 and doesn't see well. I read to Faye once a week and wanted something that was easy to read outloud that she would enjoy. She requested a love story. (Though, I had been enjoying Atonement, the prose in that book wasn't fitting to read to Faye. Too descriptive.)I ended up reading the The Horse Whisperer in a weekend after I read the first chapter outloud to Faye. Faye and I are still reading it outloud together, but I couldn't put it down on my own. I really loved it and now I want to see the movie. "

" Sorry, I did not like the cheating mother. Ruined the story for me. "

" I loved this book, despite the fact that the author is completely evil and manipulative -- that is, completely jerks around his readers' emotions. At least this reader. I was emotionally exhausted after reading it. I felt like I lost my best friend when I came to the end of the book. But whatever you do, do not see the movie. It was wretched. "

" Fantastic read, a beautiful story that I couldn't put down. This novel is about a mother, daughter, her horse and a horse whisperer. It tells the story of a dramatic accident and the mothers search for help and healing for the family. It is full of emotion that carries you alone with it. A must read. "
