Publisher Description

At one time, Corrie ten Boom would have laughed at the idea that she had a story to tell. For the first fifty years of her life, nothing out of the ordinary ever happened to her. She was an old-maid watchmaker living contentedly with her sister and their elderly father in the tiny Dutch house over their shop. Their uneventful days, as regulated as their own watches, revolved around their abiding love for one another.

But with the Nazi invasion and occupation of Holland, everything changed. Corrie ten Boom and her family became leaders in the Dutch underground, hiding Jewish people in their home in a specially built room and aiding their escape from the Nazis. For their pains, all but Corrie found death in a concentration camp.

Here is a story aglow with the glory of God and the courage of a quiet Christian spinster whose life was transformed by it.

"I have heard so much about Corrie Ten Boom from other people, so I knew I was going to be listening to a good book when I chose "The Hiding Place." What I didn't know was just how much this book would impact me. I felt as though I was in a conversation with Corrie herself – naturally listening to her tell me about her life. Experiencing secondhand the horrors of the Nazi death camps she endured. Crying with her as she recounted the stories of hardship she faced. I recommend this book to anyone who has heard much of the evils of the Third Reich, and is looking for some of the hope that truly was ever present during that time. Corrie Ten Boom was onto that hope – the hope of glory and comfort in Jesus Christ. Her stories of miracles she witnessed in Ravensbrück and beyond are ones that will encourage me for a lifetime. I deeply appreciate how well Corrie wrote this book, and the emotion the narrator put into reading it. I found myself enjoying my commutes and taking the long way home just to hear more and more. Definitely a must read."

    — Library Journal
  • “Nadia May does great credit to the writers of this true story...Her emotional control makes the tension and horror of the family’s plight more real and hideous...The listener is left with a story of extraordinary humanity, goodness and overwhelming love.”
