Publisher Description

In this faced paced novel, Race Cargill, had at one time been the best Terran Intelligence agent on the complex and mysterious planet of Wolf. He had repeatedly imperiled his life amongst the half-human and non-human creatures of that sullen world and he had repeatedly accomplished the fantastic missions until his name was emblazoned with glory. But that had all seemingly ended and for six long years he'd sat behind a boring desk inside the fenced-in Terran Headquarters, cut off there ever since he and a rival had scarred and ripped each other in blood-feud.But when The Door Through Space swung suddenly open, the feud was on again - and with it a plot designed to check and destroy the Terran Empire.

"Old school sci-fi with a detective twist. I downloaded the audio from Libravox, it was well read and the book was an enjoyable listen!"

" I enjoy a good scifi and that's exactly what this book was. An enjoyable read. "

" I'll read anything by MZB but this is definitey not her best. The story is decent enough but it's told too quickly and with choppy dialogue. I would have liked to have learned more about Wolf and its inhabitants. Pick it up only if you too need to read all things MZB. "

" I tried to read this, I really did. But I got about 20 pages in and it was so boring that I had to stop. It's rare that I don't finish a book I started, but again--boring. Much as I love her fantasy work I disliked this, and I'm a huge sci-fi fan. "

" Again i struggled to get into this, i guess there is a lot of back story which I am unfamiliar with, but I also think that Bradley's audience for these books is younger, and hence less appealing to me. "
