"The writing was very in depth and descriptive. The author did a good job of bringing this world to life and making it understandable. Colin and Septimus are well done characters. I do wish we could have known more of Septimus. I really enjoyed the read and would have given it a 5 star but there are so many loose ends in the story and no indications of a sequel. I really like tidier endings. I would also enjoy knowing more of the story. I hope I am wrong and this is just a first book in a series because I would love to see more."

" Loved this book soooo much. It reminded me of those gothic romance novels I devoured as a kid, blended with the Urban Fantasy genre that I love as an adult. I was very impressed with Josh's world building and I liked his writing style so much I immediately downloaded 4 more of his books before I had even finished this one. I would love to see more of these characters in future adventures. I don't know if the author intends to turn this into a series at some point but I really hope he will consider doing so. "

" Loved it!!! A magical mystery although no wizardry really. The concept of a different kind of magic made this a great read. "

" I really love the world that Lanyon creates in this book. It's really well built and I definitely wanted to know more about the Book Hunters. I'm also a huge fan of steampunk and haven't come across many in LGBT, so this made me extremely happy. "

" Steampunk-esque m/m romance where librarians are hunting out rare magic books. It's not quite 5 stars but it's pretty darn good. Josh Lanyon is always worth reading. "

" Probably it is not the best work of fiction but I enjoyed it very much. It has a special atmosphere of mysticism and tension. It reminded me The 9th gate movie in some way, which is one of my favorite movies. "
