Publisher Description

Thousands of depressed little towns, villages and hamlets dot the vast plain where Cristiano Zena lives with his hard-drinking father, Rino. Unfocused urban sprawl with no centre to look to and nothing to look forward to.

Rino Zena and his cronies, Danilo and Quattro Formaggi, are planning a ram raid on an ATM, using a converted tractor. The wary, adoring Cristiano sits in on their meetings, watching their half-baked plans unravel, and thinks about the unattainable Fabiana Ponticelli. He has no idea that something very, very bad is about to happen. Or that it will change his life forever....

"This took me many pages too really get into, probably because it had been a few years since I read the earlier books in the series. Yes, I still like it. The Prologue was confusing, again because I forgot so much of the story. Once I progressed further I enjoyed the same old characters again. Jordan's explanations are long and very involved, but I still want to keep reading the series."

" The last of the slower books, It feels like hardly anything happened in this book. "

" Would have rated 3 stars if not for a few scenes in this book. Clearly the weakest part of the series although as important as any. "

" No real plot movement in this book, not even any real repercussions from the cleansing. Egwene is still besieging Tar Valon though suffers a setback at the end. Elayne is still fighting to win her crown. Rand is still in semi-hiding. Matt is moving away from Ebou Dar at a glacial pace. Perrin is still contemplating how to rescue Faile and gives up the axe. Matt's sections with Tuon were probably the funnest to read but did not really make up for the lack of anything else really going on. Despite other reviews, the book does not take place just in one day, just the first half of it. The second half covers about a week more worth of events. I just started the next book and more happens in the first 5 pages than what happened in this entire book, hopefully we are over the hump, 4 books to go. "

" Still original rather than inovative; a huge read; allow plenty of time and read the hardback rather than the paperback for bigger print. Don't worry if you can't remember all the names and the nuances of the politics. Just go with the flow. "

" Also better than I remembered it. It suffers from being a transition book that has to move pieces from one place to another, but in a series of this magnitude that's inevitable. Even with that said, a LOT happens and much of it is quite significant. "

" The series is great, but book ten is another background information book. I was constantly waiting for something to happen and just when i thought something would, it was usually something minor. The last two books better be stellar and outta this world! "
