Publisher Description

Suzanne Perry is having a vivid nightmare. Someone is in her bedroom, touching her, and she can't move a muscle. She wakes, relieved to put the nightmare behind her, but when she opens the curtains, she sees a Polaroid stuck to the window. A photo of her sleeping self, taken during the night. And underneath the words: I'm watching over you. Her nightmare isn't over. In fact, it's just beginning.

Detective Inspector Phil Brennan of the Major Incident Squad has a killer to hunt. A killer who stalks young women, insinuates himself into their lives, and ultimately tortures and murders them in the most shocking way possible. But the more Phil investigates, the more he delves into the twisted psychology of his quarry, Phil realises that it isn't just a serial killer he's hunting but something - or someone - infinitely more calculating and horrific. And much closer to home than he realised....

"Second in this series of four books. I read the third book: Cage of Bones, first. A truly good series following the work of Phil Brennan and Marina Esposito. I have the final book waiting to be read then will have to wait to see if their will be a fifth in the series! Tania Carver's books put me in mind of another great crime writers books; Peter James with the Roy Grace books."

" Average thriller. References to the first book in the series so I advise reading the Surrogate before this. "

" Tania Carver was a new one on me and, after reading some rather favourable reviews, and being a bit of a crime nut, I thought I'd give The Creeper a go. 'Terrifying' and 'shocking' were to words that kept being used, so I couldnt wait. Unfortunately, and to my disappointment, it was neither and all rather cliched. The story is average, the usual damaged detective struggling through his personal issues whilst on the trail of a killer. True, there are some good moments, but not enough to make it different from the plethora of detective fiction that is out there "

" I enjoyed the first in the series (The Surrogate) and I must have liked it as I have marked down to read the other 3. This one was ok but I guessed the twist from about halfway through Will I read the remaining 2? Probably. But for me this just wasn't a 'can't put it down' book at all. "

" This is the sequel to "The Surrogate" (which I've never read before), but I have to say I didn't feel like I was missing out or had to play catch up while reading "The Creeper." This book was very eerie, especially as a single female, and there were a few twists & turns that I didn't expect. Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good thriller! "
