Suzanne Perry is having a vivid nightmare. Someone is in her bedroom, touching her, and she can't move a muscle. She wakes, relieved to put the nightmare behind her, but when she opens the curtains, she sees a Polaroid stuck to the window. A photo of her sleeping self, taken during the night. And underneath the words: I'm watching over you. Her nightmare isn't over. In fact, it's just beginning.

Detective Inspector Phil Brennan of the Major Incident Squad has a killer to hunt. A killer who stalks young women, insinuates himself into their lives, and ultimately tortures and murders them in the most shocking way possible. But the more Phil investigates, the more he delves into the twisted psychology of his quarry, Phil realises that it isn't just a serial killer he's hunting but something - or someone - infinitely more calculating and horrific. And much closer to home than he realised...

" Average thriller. References to the first book in the series so I advise reading the Surrogate before this. "

" Better than The Surrogate, hence 3 stars, but I don't think 'll be going out of my way to read any more of Ms Carver's books. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Laura | 2/7/2014

" Another book of Tania's i couldn't put down, so many twists and turns, just when i thought i had it figured out more shocking stuff, you have got to read these books "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Leah | 1/30/2014

" Definitely a page turner! Poe's "Ligeia" is one of the earliest and best serial killer stories. I could definitely see a connection when I was reading this novel, but I doubt that it was intentional. As others have said, at times it is difficult to figure out what is going on if you have not read the first book in the series. By the end I had it figured out, but now I do not know if the first book is spoiled for me. Some have said it seemed too American, but I did not see that. The setting was British, but maybe not the quaint setting some might want. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Elizabeth Moffat | 1/28/2014

" I think I preferred the authors first book, the surrogate to this one. The name dropping of about 3 different household brands by just page 4 was a bit irritating. By halfway through however the book really picked up and I enjoyed the story a lot more. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Thasc | 1/20/2014

" A riveting edge of your seat read from start to finish. Will definitely be looking out for more books by this author. "

" The second book was better than the first, so I await the third hoping it will be better than the second. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Peze | 12/17/2013

" this book was quite slow to get going but it did get better however some of the plot was culled from the first novel but all in all not a bad read "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Kaitlyn | 11/18/2013

" This book was one of the best I've ever read. The Creeper takes you on a suspenseful journey into the mind of a mentally-ill ex-soldier and the mind of a psychopathic college student. You will not regret reading this book. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Vivian | 11/18/2013

" Another deliciously creepy entry in the DI Phil Brennan/Marina Esposito series from the husband and wife writing team Martyn and Linda Waites. I was glued to the book until the end. I'm starting the next in the series tonight. Highly recommend. "

" Young women are disappearing after being stalked by a mysterious man-creature. Then a body turns up. Lost of wonderful twists and turns and creepy hide under the covers moments. Needs a slightly better editor but still great fun "

  • 1 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 5 Emily | 9/10/2013

" Six chapters of physical description (and bad description at that), one murder, one mysterious guy in a coma, and I just kept thinking, "When is something going to happen?!" There may be a good story in this book, but there's also a lot of writing going nowhere. "
