Dad asked me if I wanted to see more of the Compound. I didn't. We would have to wait fifteen years before it would be safe to go outside. Which left more than enough time to see the rest of the Compound.

Our new world. A world I would soon hate.

Eli and his family have lived in the Compound for six years. The world they knew is gone. Eli's father built the Compound to keep them safe. Now, they can't get out.

He won't let them. Download and start listening now!

" Some truly disturbing content. But although this is a YA novel, I still felt that the author didn't spend enough time developing the main premise: How far would someone go to survive? "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Stephanie Quezada | 2/4/2014

" This was a cool book, however, I knew basically the conclusion from the first 5 pages. With that said, it was still a good book. Finished it quickly because I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Lots of good tense moments that were not at all complicated like most adult thrillers. Easy read. Easy thrills. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Jill Orton | 2/3/2014

" A good family read and discussion book. Talked about nuclear war, cloning, food sources, heroism, craziness to name a few! "

" battle of the books 2011. this book was really weird! The dad is a complete pycho!!! It did get better at the end when there was more action, but still really weird! "

" I thought this was ok. the ending kind of suprised me but other than that their wasn't a lot of depth too it. all in all i thought it was an ok read. i don't think i would really reccomend it to anybody. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Hihihhi hello | 1/17/2014

" Good read and a defnate page turner. I felt pretty bad for the main character because he was stuck in the compound and had made his own compound around him. I dont usually like books with phscos (premonitions) but this was way better. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Sara | 1/13/2014

" Writing style is good, but story just gets ABSURD. "

" This book took me a while to get into it. The concept of the book is very interesting, but the story didn't really take off until about a third into it. The ending wasn't bad. Overall though, I liked it. "

" I wasn't sure about the book based on the first 20-40 pages -- main character telling the story seemed over-the-top whiny (which is a pet peeve of mine w/books in general). However, I stuck with it, and it really turned around. Good thriller w/lots of twists and turns. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Kadie | 9/25/2013

" It's an incredible novel, with a huge twist, a must read. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Meganators | 6/12/2013

" First half is great, second half falls apart and isn't believable. Everything falls too neatly together at the end. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Autumn Jungling | 9/20/2012

" I felt like this book was really rushed I enjoyed the main character and the story plot but I feel like if the author would have spent a little more time on the specifics that the book would have been a great book. Good idea for a story but not so great of a book. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Moriah Reyes | 8/26/2012

" I read this book in two days. I would recommend it if you liked the Hunger Games. It's not violent but it has, I think, some of the same themes. It's sort of a dystopian novel, even though its confined in a small environment. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Driftin | 6/11/2012

" Definitely the best book I have ever read its story was amzing! The plot made more sense than any other book I have ever read. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Havilah | 2/8/2012

" I haven't read a book like this one. While it is obviously written for a YA audience, I really enjoyed the story. (For what it's worth, Jones liked it too!) It's a very quick read, but good the whole way through. Highly recommended. "
