Publisher Description

Dad asked me if I wanted to see more of the Compound. I didn't. We would have to wait fifteen years before it would be safe to go outside. Which left more than enough time to see the rest of the Compound.

Our new world. A world I would soon hate.

Eli and his family have lived in the Compound for six years. The world they knew is gone. Eli's father built the Compound to keep them safe. Now, they can't get out.

He won't let them.

"This was a cool book, however, I knew basically the conclusion from the first 5 pages. With that said, it was still a good book. Finished it quickly because I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Lots of good tense moments that were not at all complicated like most adult thrillers. Easy read. Easy thrills."

" Some truly disturbing content. But although this is a YA novel, I still felt that the author didn't spend enough time developing the main premise: How far would someone go to survive? "

" Good read and a defnate page turner. I felt pretty bad for the main character because he was stuck in the compound and had made his own compound around him. I dont usually like books with phscos (premonitions) but this was way better. "

" This book took me a while to get into it. The concept of the book is very interesting, but the story didn't really take off until about a third into it. The ending wasn't bad. Overall though, I liked it. "

" I wasn't sure about the book based on the first 20-40 pages -- main character telling the story seemed over-the-top whiny (which is a pet peeve of mine w/books in general). However, I stuck with it, and it really turned around. Good thriller w/lots of twists and turns. "

" I felt like this book was really rushed I enjoyed the main character and the story plot but I feel like if the author would have spent a little more time on the specifics that the book would have been a great book. Good idea for a story but not so great of a book. "

" I read this book in two days. I would recommend it if you liked the Hunger Games. It's not violent but it has, I think, some of the same themes. It's sort of a dystopian novel, even though its confined in a small environment. "
