Pickax loves a big occasion. The Great Food Expo is about to begin, introducing new restaurants, country inns, food specialty shops and a new food page in the Moose County Something. Lurking in the background is a killer determined to make this an event Pickax City will never forget.

The Expo begins with a literal bang: a bomb wrecks the hotel, killing a housekeeper and causing extensive damage. Luckily for Pickax, Qwill is on the scene, his moustache twitching with suspicions that this bomb was intended as something stronger than a warning to someone. His evidence: Koko and Yum Yum's new interest in cheese, especially Gruyere, Brie and Feta. Qwill and the Siamese are on a case that will demand all their feline intuition and mustachioed insight!

" PickAx is hosting a Food Explo, which may be a poor choice of name from the community perspective, after the town's only hotel is hit by a bomb! After other potential witnesses are found dead, Koko is going to have to quit sniffing around the cheeses and save some friends! I enjoyed all of the food in this one! Make sure you have a snack nearby when you read it :) There is also a return to the mystery of Iris Cobb's missing cookbook. "

" One of four "Cat who.." books I read while traveling. They are best that way. They are fast, light reading with touches of humor attributed to up-north characters and cat antics. "

" My grandma had a copy of this book lying around while we cleaned her apartment and she let me take it home. I enjoyed the descriptions of the small town preparing for their Great Food Explo than the mystery itself. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Belinda | 8/12/2012

" This was an okay book, but really not my style. It's the story of a newspaper columnists and his siamese cats who solve mysteries. While I am not a fan of shoot 'em up and gory murders, this was too tame for words. My mother would like it. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Donna | 7/23/2012

" A good little read. The "Cat Who..." books are fun and entertaining. "

" Thoroughly enjoyable characters and a good, clean mystery. I have had this series on my list for ages, and this is my first foray into it. A great start. Looking forward to more of these. It's fun to find a series with a LOT of installments. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Caroline | 4/10/2012

" These are charming and fun mysteries. I went through a binge of everything in the series when I was younger, but haven't touched them since. I remember really enjoying them, though, and both liking the main character and the twists to the stories. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Nicole | 4/8/2012

" This is the first book, in this large series, that I've read. It was a good, easy read. I did learn some things about cheese! I would probably read another in the series, just to see what they are like. "
