These six cases are among the last undertaken by Sherlock Holmes before he retired to the Sussex downs. However, the problems facing the sleuth are as diverse and challenging as ever. What with seeking the whereabouts of the stolen Mazarin Diamond, discovering the importance of being called Garrideb, encountering a mysterious murder on Thor Bridge, searching for eternal youth and the threat of a vampire in Sussex, there is no sign of Holmes' deductive powers slowing down. " The narrator was excellent. To spice it up a bit, there were lovely classical music pieces sprinkled between stories! "

" A good read especially if you are a Sherlock Holmes fan. The really interesting story was when Holmes narrated his own case. "

" Not the best but still very interesting for Sherlock Holmes. I was not a big fan of the stories with no Watson but Doyle does take the time to acknowledge through Sherlock that the story may not be his best. Still a great addition to the canon of Holmes. "

" I never knew Sherlock Holmes was so awesome. There is so much adventure and even humor in these tiny stories. I kept laughing out loud, and when people asked me what was so funny, I felt weird saying 'Sherlock Holmes,' but it's true.
I think I've got another obsession.

" I just finished The Adventures of the Three Garridebs. It is one of my favorite stories because you get to see a glimpse of Holmes' love for his friend Watson. Now I am reading The Adventure of Thor Bridge. "

" I'm sad to be done rereading the Sherlock Holmes books, but I have to admit this one was much better than the last couple. Yay for going out on a high note! I especially liked the ones done from Holmes' perspective. (Now on to Alisa's fan fic :D)

About the Author

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859–1930) was born of Irish parentage in Scotland. He studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh, but he also had a passion for storytelling. His first book introduced that prototype of the modern detective in fiction, Sherlock Holmes. Despite the immense popularity Holmes gained throughout the world, Doyle was not overly fond of the character and preferred to write other stories. Eventually popular demand won out and he continued to satisfy readers with the adventures of the legendary sleuth. He also wrote historical romances and made two essays into pseudoscientific fantasy: The Lost World and The Poison Belt.

About the Narrator

David Timson is an actor, voice actor, and playwright. He is best known for his narration of The Complete Sherlock Holmes audiobook, in which he voices all 125 characters in the Holmes novels and short stories. His narrations have earned eight AudioFile Earphones Award.
