" My childhood was Nancy Drew and these books inspired me to spend hours writing stories. I loved all the plot twists in the Nancy Drew books and I still remember reading this book one summer evening and my jaw dropping open as I came to the epic plot twist that the author gave us. This book is written for a young audience in mind. Yet it is so clean and suspenseful that you can't help but fall in love with it. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Greta | 9/12/2012

" Great. Highlights include: fast paced action, solid sleuthing. This was written by original writer (wrote about first half of books). Later writers were instructed to tone things (and Nancy) down a bit. I did notice these first titles have a distinctive edge to them. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Terri | 8/28/2012

" Nacny and her friend are rescued from a boating accident by a nice young woman named Laura. Only Laura is in trouble and Nancy has to solve the case. Always fun to re-visit Nancy "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Sara | 5/2/2012

" Nancy must have escaped death at least 4 times in this book. These have such cheesy endings but I wouldn't change them for the world. Just plain fun!! "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Jesse Figuera | 3/7/2012

" She never disappoints me. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Christina | 1/29/2012

" Probably one of my favorite Nancy Drew mysteries because of the fast paced action and solid sleuthing. The mystery is pretty interesting, although I solved it by the first 100 pages. Still, it kept me entertained for a good thirty minutes. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Xyra | 1/20/2012

" This one won't make my top 5 nancy Drew mysteries, but it was still very good. No George, Bess, or Ned in this one, but Don was quite attentive to Nancy. Reminded me just how hard it used to be to stay connected when no one had cell phones. :) Love how polite and trusting everyone is! "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Malina | 11/20/2011

" 3.5 stars [R]unning away from a chance to pick up a clue was not in Nancy's nature. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 John Yelverton | 9/25/2011

" Yet another excellent addition to the Nancy Drew mystery book series. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Tessa | 7/3/2011

" This series is meant to be fun, light reading, and that's all it is. A very simple, straightforward mystery with one dimensional characters this book is not great literature, but it never claimed to be. It's just a fun adventure that help gets young people hooked on reading. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Maureen | 5/12/2011

" ONLY if you read the original version. These novels were "adapted" for 'modern sensibilities' thereby changing much of the original settings. "
