Publisher Description

Three children wake up in a basement room. They have been drugged and taken from their beds in the middle of the night. Now they are alone. Where are their parents? Who can they trust? The family has been betrayed to the government and Salt Cottage, their home on a cliff top above the ocean, is no longer safe. Their mother's scientific work has put them all in danger. To protect them, she must let them go. She must put her faith in an old family friend - and in her children's own resilience and courage. Searing, provocative and unputdownable, The Book of Rapture is a novel of our time that's every bit as passionate and driven as The Bride Stripped Bare. It will compel, seduce and haunt you.

"Rapture does an excellent job of tying up all the loose ends left by the prior books. You will be on the edge of your seat the entire time, trying to stay ahead of the characters. It's thrilling to try and figure out everyone's motivations, and moving beyond description when friends are forced to make the ultimate sacrifice. It ends in a shocking plot twist, one of the brilliant ones that blindsides you. You never see it coming, yet somehow you knew all along. This conclusion of the Fallen series is a sad farewell to new friends and old. Daniel, Arriane, Luce, Annabelle, Cam, Gabbe, Molly, it's been grand. We shall miss you greatly."

" Maybe I missed something or misread something (I'll admit to skimming - someone else was waiting on this book), but did the author imply (several times) that the Earth is only seven thousand years old? Really? *chuckle* Okily dokily. "

" Loved this series!! Sad to have read the last page and know their story has ended. This book really redeemed the series for me, book 3 was a complete waste of time to read, not sure what she was going for on that one. But, kudos to Lauren on Rapture, well done. "

" Depressing and dark (for a parent with similar aged children). The tension was well maintained, but I struggled with the "observer status" of the mother. Was it allegorical? I couldnt decide what it was, I think that was part of my problem with it. "
