Publisher Description

ONE PIECE OF THE SKIN MAP HAS BEEN FOUND. NOW THE RACE TO UNRAVEL THE FUTURE OF THE FUTURE TURNS DEADLY.

An avenue of Egyptian sphinxes, an Etruscan tufa tomb, a Bohemian coffee shop, and a Stone Age landscape where universes collide ...

Kit Livingstone met his great grandfather Cosimo in a rainy alley in London where he discovered the reality of alternate realities. Now he's on the run - and on a quest, trying to understand the impossible mission he inherited from Cosimo: to restore a map that charts the hidden dimensions of the multiverse while staying one step ahead of the savage Burley Men. The key is the Skin Map - but where it leads and what it means, Kit has no idea. The pieces have been scattered throughout this universe and beyond. Mina, from her outpost in seventeenth-century Prague, is quickly gaining both the experience and the means to succeed in the quest. Yet so are those with evil intent, who from the shadows are manipulating great minds of history for their own malign purposes. Across time and space, through manifest and hidden worlds, those who know how to use ley lines to travel through astral planes have left their own world behind in this, the second quest: to unlock the mystery of The Bone House.

"Other reviewers complained that the story is slow and has too many characters, as well as people in different locations and points in time. I see all of these as strengths of the story, rather than items for complaint. The idea that time is happening all at once in many parallel universes is fascinating. I'm looking forward to reading the third book, but perhaps I won't hurry too much as I now understand there are to be five in total!"

" Lawhead does a nice job keeping the suspense building while hopping between alternate times and places. At first it makes for a seemingly disjointed reading, but as I simply stopped trying to figure out the time travel aspects, I started to enjoy the story. I recommend this for Lawhead fans. "

" Kept me turning pages with its imaginative plotline. I really love how Lawhead explores physics, philosophy, and time. Made me think! The last few chapters seemed a bit out of place and anticlimactic (and there are times the switching back and forth through time is hard to keep track of), but the rest of the book was great. "

" 2 in a series. I missed number one but will get it read and also number 3. Started off a little slow but about halfway I was hooked by the time I was finished I wanted more. "

" As always, Stephen Lawhead delivers a great story. This is the second book in the series that started with The Skin Map. Things are getting more complicated with ley line travel now. I'm eager to see what the next book brings. "

" This one is more disjointed than the last, and it took a wacky turn at the end living with cave people for months, but I got the next one. I need something to read on the train, after all. "

" it took the entire book to figure out why Mr. Lawhead called this book Bone House, but when it finally came, the twist was good. Definitely I would reread both this book and the Skin Map book before the 3rd installment is released in September, it would make it much easier to follow the story. "

" Not my cup of tea. Too many characters, confused even more with time-travel. Maybe if I had started with the first book I would give it 3 stars. There are a few parts that are written well, like the places in Pre-Roman Italy and the caveman chapters. "
