Publisher Description

What would you call people who steal the newly buried dead and sell their bodies for medical dissection? In Stevenson's day, they were sometimes called resurrectionists - but he calls them Body-Snatchers and tells a grisly, memorable story about them. A master of terror and suspense, Stevenson lets his imagination explore the depths of human superstitions. Also included on this recording are the stories Isle of Voices and The Waif Woman.

"This is a wonderful shaggy-dog story. At least, I think it's shaggy-dog. Would someone please read the last sentence and tell me what you think? "

" It was okay, but not the greatest read. "

" I read this awhile ago....apparently I've been busy....for October, thinking it would be fun to read a scary story. It was o.k. I've definitely read better short stories. The whole premise and timeline in which it took place were kind of creepy, but that's about it. "

" This was just another short story in the Dr. Jekyll book. I read it in about 1/2 an hour. It was well written and a good Halloween type ghost story. A little silly and a little creepy, but a good read. "

" The story is quite short but pretty scary. After finishing it I can honestly admit that I don't get it. Maybe I am too reasonable or lacking imagination or faith in the supernatural. "

" Ok it was the only book I could find!! I did not enjoy this but it was a short story and it was at least tolerable enough to finish. I didn't like the ending and as it was supposed to be a horror story, I didn't find it horrific at all!! "

" This book was about doctors who dissect humans, yet obtain the bodies from people who most often apparently murder them since the doctors pay them for the bodies. I got really confused in this book. The only spooky part was the last page, and it wasn't really that scary anyway. "

" Not Stevenson's best, but still a collection of three short stories that are very much in his style and therefore really enjoyable. "
