"A body was found in the library and immediately after the police were called, Miss Marple is called. This story is pretty complex and I liked it because there were not too many characters to keep track of. I knew who everybody was and everything fit into place. Since I've been reading these in order, I've been able to recognize some of the recurring characters and its fun to see what's happening to them. For example, in the first book, we find out the vicar's wife is pregnant. In this book, we find out that she has a little boy that she adores. Because these snippets are very subtle, one had to be interested in the lives of the side characters to pick up on them. It really feels like your living in the village too and finding out information about everyone as the series professes. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book!"

" Second volume in the Miss Marple series. The boby of an unknown woman in flashy clothes is found strangled in the library of the staid, respectable Bantry's. It's up to the clever Miss Marple to save her dear friends. Possibly my favorite Miss Marple tale alongside the "4:50 From Paddington." "

" A reread of a book that I last read when I was a teen and plowed my way through the entire Christie corpus. (Pun intended.) Since I read the Miss Marple stories first, it was great fun to revisit her from a distance of 30+ years. "

" This event in Miss Marple's life gets referenced in her later books and became my primary reason for picking this up. I'm honestly convinced as to why her neighbors and even the police hold her in high regards. She goes about investigating things in her own way. Trust nobody. "
