" In "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes", Sherlock and Watson are hired by the king of Bohemia to track down a wanted thief who has stolen from the king right from under his nose. I feel like this would be a better book if it were a bit easier to read. The olden time english writing style compliments the feel of the book, yet sometimes it is overwhelming. You would read a chapter and no understand a single thing you read. Aside from that, The story is intriguing and mysterious, wanting you to read on. (If you can...) The cunning yet mischievous Holmes gets himself into a bit of trouble, but as always, his incredible detective work gets him back on track. "

" These are pretty sweet. I did not realize that Holmes was such a rockstar in the books. My only beef is that after 3 to 5 tales, you start to see the formula and it starts to get a little Law and Order or more precisely, Encyclopedia Brown. Still badass and still worth the read though. "

About the Author

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859–1930) was born of Irish parentage in Scotland. He studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh, but he also had a passion for storytelling. His first book introduced that prototype of the modern detective in fiction, Sherlock Holmes. Despite the immense popularity Holmes gained throughout the world, Doyle was not overly fond of the character and preferred to write other stories. Eventually popular demand won out and he continued to satisfy readers with the adventures of the legendary sleuth. He also wrote historical romances and made two essays into pseudoscientific fantasy: The Lost World and The Poison Belt.
