"This children's book was much better than I expected. I couldn't put it down. It was fast paced and fun to read. It is not completely unpredictable, and it takes a while for the characters to develop. It is a bit more unbelievable than other children's books I've read - the younger kids were able to fool their au pair to take them to Europe and not check with the legal guardian first. Now I have read enough that I want to see how it ends and what the treasure is at the end of the 39 Clues."

" I started reading this because my little brother had just read the first few and was in love with them. They are surprisingly good; I've read the first 3 so far, and they combine a good set of characters with around-the-world adventures and a not-just-for-little-kids kind of plot. They are not the most challenging books for me, but they are enjoyable and funny, and I will plan on reading the others in the series. "
