Publisher Description

In Julie Cross' Tempest, the year is 2009. Nineteen-year-old Jackson Meyer is a normal guy… he's in college, has a girlfriend… and he can travel back through time. But it's not like the movies – nothing changes in the present after his jumps, there's no space-time continuum issues or broken flux capacitors – it's just harmless fun. That is… until the day strangers burst in on Jackson and his girlfriend, Holly, and during a struggle with Jackson, Holly is fatally shot. In his panic, Jackson jumps back two years to 2007, but this is not like his previous time jumps. Now he's stuck in 2007 and can't get back to the future. Desperate to somehow return to 2009 to save Holly but unable to return to his rightful year, Jackson settles into 2007 and learns what he can about his abilities. But it's not long before the people who shot Holly in 2009 come looking for Jackson in the past, and these "Enemies of Time" will stop at nothing to recruit this powerful young time-traveler. Recruit… or kill him. Piecing together the clues about his father, the Enemies of Time, and himself, Jackson must decide how far he's willing to go to save Holly… and possibly the entire world.

"This book is very exciting and fast paced. I could not put it down from the moment I started it. I liked that it is not the traditional time travel story. Although, it did get a bit confusing at points especially towards the end. The ending was disappointing because there really isn't anything final. I usually judge a book by its ending so I really have to wait for the next book in the series to come out next year before I am totally convinced. Overall it was an enjoyable read and I can't wait to read the next one."

" I enjoy reading time travel stories, and this one offered a different take on it. It did get a little simplistic in some situations, and I was frustrated with the whole 'who are the good guys', but overall it was a pretty gripping story. Definitely PG-13. "

" I liked this book. The time traveling wasn't hard to understand. I liked the characters a lot. It was interesting to see how a certain character was different in the past compared to Jackson's 2009 understanding of them. Some parts were funny and other parts were frustrating. The ending is where all the shit goes down. I really need to read the sequel so I know what happens to Jackson next. "

" I thought the idea of the story, the whole plot of it, was good. however, the more I read the more confused I got. I had to put the book away because I just couldn't keep up anymore. "

" Part sci-fi novel, part spy novel, this book was a great read. Even if it did make my head hurt from time to time. The physics behind time travel tends to do that to me. "

" I liked this book and I didn't cringe when I read it. However I didn't feel much else for it. If your looking for something to read and you see it lying on a self, I wouldn't advice you not to read it, however don't be expected to get blown away. "
