They were strangers.

A handful of people. From different backgrounds, living in different towns and cities across America, they had nothing in common—except fear.

They were victims.

Cold and stark, an unknown terror gripped their dreams and turned their days into living nightmares.

They were chosen.

And they could not escape. Deep in the heart of a sprawling desert, a dark memory called out to them drawing them to the Tranquility Motel—where the terrifying truth was waiting….

  • “Koontz has topped a fine roster of horror and suspense novels…His ability to maintain the mystery through several plot twists is impressive, as is his array of believable and sympathetic characters. " The whole time that I was reading this book I was puzzled and dying to know the ending. Many things get thrown into the storyline that make no sense, until the very end when everything comes together. Overall, it was a pleasant read. "

" I don't know whagt it is about this book that I love so much, but it's one of my favorites. I've read a lot of Dean Koontz books and after a while, his fantastical plots all start to blur together into one big pile of (the good kind of) crazy but the plot for this book has always stood out to me. I can't even remember the number of times I've read it but every time I do, I feel like I come away with something new. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Tanja | 2/1/2014

" I've read several books by Dean Koontz already and I really liked all of those, but "Strangers" is the first novel that seemed a bit too detailed at times. I usually hate doing that but I couldn't keep myself from skipping over a few paragraphs here and there because I just felt like it was a bit overdone. I love the storyline itself and the characters are very interesting - if only it could have been about 100 pages less this could have been a great book. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Marian | 1/21/2014

" I actually enjoyed this one. Scary things are happening to a group of strangers who turn out to be connected because of an unusual experience that none of them can remember. Koontz actually keeps the mystery alive throughout the whole novel (and it's a long one too). Good read. "
