Publisher Description

In the not-too-distant future, a young woman bears witness to the end of her world. Earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions rock the planet, reducing cities to smoking rubble, burying entire islands and coastlines beneath cataclysmic waves. Religious fervor and human evil erupt and entwine, becoming a maelstrom of madness in the days after, bringing with it the horror of apocalyptic war.

As a population in the depths of despair struggles to overcome insurmountable odds, can a single glimmer of hope flare into a beacon for the survivors? This is her tale....

The world is ours...and now, it's Story Time.

"This book is riveting! Zuckoff tells this tale at a breakneck pace..Couldn't put it down.. couldn't wait to see who survives and how they manage it. Unequivocally, I loved this book!"

" The story of not one but several planes going down on Greenland during World War II and of the survivors struggles on the polar icecap. Rescuers fight the sub zero temperatures, blinding snow and wind just to get to the survivors. Only able to drop supplies and food the military and the coast guard fight to find a way to reach their comrades. On the ground the airmen battle the same conditions; added to obstacles of frozen terrain, moving glaciers, and snow covered crevasses deep enough to swallow anything that falls in. An example of the extremes of the human condition and how far it can go to to survive. "

" Not as good as Lost in Shagri-La, but not bad either. There were a lot of people to keep up with especially with the switching time periods; but it was also really interesting to get two true stories at once. All in all a good read. "

" It's a good story but the book's structure is a mess and the parallel present-day story doesn't belong in the book at all, except maybe as a postscript. "
