Publisher Description

Matt Cruse is back in the phenomenal third volume in Kenneth Oppel's best-selling, award-winning series - and this time he's heading for outer space. Airborn and Skybreaker, the first two books in the series, have been among our best-selling and most-honored titles, and we think you'll find this one just as thrilling - if not more so. Featuring an international cast of larger-than-life characters, this is adventure fiction at its finest.

"I think I need to add an "Adventure" or a "steampunk" shelf, because this isn't exactly what I'd call a YA novel, though the main characters would be considered YA. This series is just one grand adventure after another and a great read for just about anyone; I've really enjoyed it. In this installment, Matt becomes an "astralnaut" on the first space expedition, and of course Kate is right there to complicate things. :) I thought this would be the end of the series, but it was left wide open and I hope there is more to come...???"

" Wonderous and well written! I loved it how Kenneth Oppel took his readers higher and far away from the smy and into outerspace. Matt and Kate find themselves in another problem with the rest of the Starclimber crew when they find their lives endangered. "

" This time the Airborne characters venture into outer space with lots of romance, mishaps, bad guys etc.. I enjoyed the concepts in the first two books - alternate universe where things are just slightly different. Such as air travel by 'dirigible' type conveyances, and the Titanic didn't sink. But, the science is silly in this one. Young Adults. "

" Loved the first two books of this series but this one not so much. It was good, but just didn't hold my attention as well. Plus it had more language in it. We listened to the audio version as a family and it bugged me that a childrens book had bad language (albeit mild) in it. "
