" Terry Brooks made the characters and their motivations really come alive. I which George Lucas could have done this good of a job. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 bookczuk | 2/1/2014

" It's Terry Brooks, based on the screenplay and story by George Lucas. Hardback. Natalie Portman as the princess on the cover. Why do all the princess type women in Star Wars have such absurd hair styles? And why were the prequels to the original trilogy all so bad? "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Matthew | 1/26/2014

" This works better on paper than it does on screen. Although it's well written, the problem is that the story just isn't all that good. Jar Jar is still annoying, but Anakin less so. I liked the additional scenes in the early sections of the book. "

  • 1 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 5 Paulo Carvalho | 1/15/2014

" One of the worst books on this trilogy. I got nothing from it. Of course the POV are good addition but I really hope for more. At least the movie was good. "

" My review for this book has to be good because this book is good. It shows not tell in every possible way and it's ways with word can allow you to make a image on whats happening in the book. What i learned from this book is to always believe in yourself and never give up. Tashts what Obi-Wan did with Anakin as a young boy. Obi-Wan avenged the death of his master by killing Darth Maul in battle. Overall, I give this book a five out of five because the book itself is an adventure you will never forget. "

" I feel that George Lucas had too short a leash on Terry....it seemed like he wrote straight from the script. It was alright, but didn't feel like a Terry Brooks novel. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Bhone | 12/27/2013

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Patrick | 12/18/2013

" Brooks does a fantastic adaptation of "Star Wars: Episode 1"; perhaps even better than the film itself. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Navajojim | 12/16/2013

" He did with this book that ol george lucas couldn't do. He cut out Jar Jar binks so that his part was only a small part and not the whole movie like george. Because of that it was a really good star wars book. I did enjoy it, truely. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Georgina | 8/6/2013

" I loved the book and film. The book and movie actually was a journey throughout my childhood. I've loved Star Wars since I wanted it for Christmas. This would be the best for kids of how fun their childhood actually is! "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Matt Hartzell | 6/9/2013

" The adapted novel of the movie. This is probably better than the movie, but that's not saying much. "

" eh, the movie was better. lol "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Kevin | 4/9/2013

" A surpisingly bland translation of the movie. I find that the early, CLone Wars era STAR WARS stuff is some of the most boring stuff I've ever read. This did nothing to dissuade me from that opinion, and frankly, I'm surprised that such a blandly wirtten book was done by Terry Brooks. "

  • 1 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 5 Casey Stanislaus Czarnowski | 12/27/2012

" Should have loved it. Great mythology and a writer with a proven record of great mythologies. But it was merely a transcription of the film. At least I didn't have to watch "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Kyle | 11/13/2012

" I liked it, but not as much as the movie. I think it was too much like the movie, but I did watch the movie first. If you have seen the movie, no sense in wasting your time on this book. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Jacinta | 9/21/2012

" A faithful re-telling of the book, with a little more internal monologue. Fun, but turns out that it's not really a strong enough story to bear the kind of attention it gets without explosions to distract you. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Benjamin | 4/27/2011

" Well, the novelization improved slightly on a truly horrible, one-star movie, so that sounds like two stars to me. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Damon | 3/28/2011

" I mostly read the action parts from the movie- this was written after the movie so there are no new great insights. The dialogue is pretty verbatum from the movie so it's not that exciting. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Terence | 3/3/2011

" It was better than the movie. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 William | 2/22/2011

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Rafael | 2/3/2011

" This book is good. It is very exciting. It has a lot of political content and war content. If you watched the movie, I think you will enjoy it more and understand it better. "
