Publisher Description

No war can last forever. Now, in the long and punishing battle between the defiant champions of the New Jedi Order and the juggernaut that is the Galactic Alliance, the endgame is finally at hand.

The rebel cause is losing ground under the twin blows of Admiral Gilad Pellaeon's assassination and the death of Mara Jade Skywalker. At the same time, the Galactic Alliance, with the extraordinary power and dark brilliance of newly ascendant Sith Lord Darth Caedus at its helm, may be unstoppable.

Tormented and torn between the call of duty and the thirst for vengeance, Luke has searched the Force and beheld an unspeakable vision of the galaxy enslaved under tyranny more monstrous than even Palpatine's. Now it seems that the last, best hope lies in mobilizing the scattered Jedi for one decisive search-and-destroy mission. The objective: eliminate Darth Caedus.

It's a plan that will be as difficult and dangerous to execute as it is daring. For Caedus is a scion of both the Skywalker and Solo bloodlines whose command of the Force surpasses even that of his grandfather, Darth Vader. There is only one who is bound by destiny to stand against him in what will surely be a duel to the death, only one with an outside chance of bringing down the dark lord who was once Jacen Solo

The furious final moments between power and peace are here, and whoever confronts Darth Caedus will decide the outcome - and the fate of those left standing.

"This series took the New Jedi Order cast to an all to familiar level. I felt that the story was engaging, the characters well developed and the story line quick, but it fell into the same Starwars trap. While a New Jedi Order challenged the status quo and soared to new heights, this story failed to live up to the gigantic bar that its predecessor set."

" WONDERFULL, heart breaking and epic batlle scenes as well as things that get you thinking, something you dont often find in books "

" Ehhhh. Ok. Sure, I cried a bit at the end - this is Jacen and Jaina, after all - but overall, I wasn't terribly impressed. I did like the author's choice to reference things that happened in the Jedi Academy series and to start out each chapter with one of Jacen's awful jokes - it added veracity and a sense of history to the book that I think gets left out of a lot of EU stuff, just because there is SO MUCH of it to remember to reference. But geeze. How much more suffering and tearing apart must the Solos and Skywalkers endure, huh? I am looking forward to the Millenium Falcon, just to see more of Allana. She's rather intriguing. "

" Good conclusion to an uneven series. After reading 9 Star Wars books in a row, I think I will take a break from the expanded universe for a while. "

" A great and tragic ending. Well done series in my mind and leads well into the next as this kind of war...with both sides stemming from the same family will lead to serious ramifications. A lot of people died because of one family (albeit a very powerful family) dirty laundry can throw the galaxy in chaos. "

" A good end to the legacy of the force series. While I did not enjoy this series as much as past ones (something about one of my favorite characters becoming evil does not sit well) i think it ended well "
