Suspended helplessly between life and death, Luke Skywalker lies in state at the Jedi academy. But on the spirit plane, Luke fights desperately for survival, reaching out physically to the Jedi twins.

At the same time, Leia is on a life-and-death mission of her own, a race against Imperial agents hoping to destroy a third Jedi child - Leia and Han's baby Anakin, hidden on the planet Anoth.

Meanwhile, Luke's former protégé, Kyp Durron, has pirated the deadly Sun Crusher on an apocalyptic mission of mass destruction, convinced he is fighting for a just cause. Hunting down the rogue warrior, Han must persuade Kyp to renounce his dark crusade and regain his lost honor. To do it, Kyp must take the Sun Crusher on a suicide mission against the awesome Death Star prototype: a battle Han knows they may be unable to win...even with Luke Skywalker at their side! " yes, I'm still a Star Wars geek! I wanted know what happens after return of the jedi! hahaha! It is paced just like the movies, and refers back to the original trilogy. An entertaing read if you are a Star Wars dork like me. "

" This book is a great Star Wars addition. "

" I read these as separate books, but it's easier to record it this way... Okay, am I the only person that thinks Kevin J. Anderson is to Star Wars what Rachel Ray is to cooking? I can't stand his writing style... It's just too corny, even for Star Wars. "

" I read this series over the summer. The first book was a bit slow, but it picked up about half way through and the last two books kept the story moving. "

" I got a little tired of hearing "the resurrected Emperor". I wish he'd not mentioned it at all. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Daniel Kukwa | 2/8/2011

" Very enjoyable and suitably epic. After Timothy Zahn, Kevin J. Anderson should always be the go-to-author if you desire exciting, breathtaking stories that come with a firm & intellignet grasp of the Star Wars universe and its cast of characters. "

" I though that this was a really good book. It took it past the high bar that the movies had set. Though there were some flaws in the ideas, It was well rounded and it peaked my interest. I would recommend it only after you have seen the original movies. "

" To be honest, I was glad for this trilogy to be over. It was fun meeting new Jedi, though some were douchier than others, new enemies that just couldn't catch a break but it wasn't the greatest of stories. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Lisa | 9/17/2010

" A great way to end the series. Kip Duron, still under the power of a Sith Lord, uses the planet destoying Suncrusher to exact revenge on the Empire for his family's fate. Things get really complicated as both Han and Luke try to bring him back to the light side of the force. "

" Important early series in the Star Wars line. A must read to see how many of the Masters in the newer books got their start. "

" I read a lot of Star Wars novels in Jr. High. It took a few dozen books before I realized many of them just weren't all that stellar. Ah, well, I'll squirrel away the memories on the internet and free up a book shelf.

" Nothing earth shattering here, just a good, solid bit of space opera with an interesting mix of new and old Star Wars characters.
    Fun read.

After Zahn's stuff, I think I enjoyed Anderson's SW stories most.

" This book had the most action out of the 3. I liked every story line that was going on with Han & Lando. Luke and his students, Leia and her counsel, Chewie and C-3PO. After watching the movies again I can link names/faces/places within the books. "
