A new era of exciting adventures and shocking revelations continues to unfold, as the legendary Star Wars saga sweeps forward into astonishing new territory.

Civil war looms as the fledgling Galactic Alliance confronts a growing number of rebellious worlds - and the approaching war is tearing the Skywalker and Solo families apart. Han and Leia return to Han's homeworld, Corellia, the heart of the resistance. Their children, Jacen and Jaina, are soldiers in the Galactic Alliance's campaign to crush the insurgents.

Jacen, now a complete master of the Force, has his own plans to bring order to the galaxy. Guided by his Sith mentor, Lumiya, and with Luke's young son Ben at his side, Jacen embarks on the same path that his grandfather Darth Vader once did. And while Han and Leia watch their only son become a stranger, a secret assassin entangles the couple with a dreaded name from Han's past: Boba Fett. In the new galactic order, friends and enemies are no longer what they seem.

" Enjoyed this one better than the first. Jacen's turn is interesting as is his thought process and Lumiya's influence "

" As galactic unrest quickens its pace, terrorism makes things even more complicated for the Alliance. Some old "friends" such as Boba Fett reemerge. Solo's transition is what really makes the story so interesting. One of the main themes in this book is division among the family. I'm a little biased so I rated the book five stars, but it certainly will not disappoint any current or eventual Star Wars fan. "

" A decent continuation to the new saga, if not as good as Aaron Allston's first. It's nice to see a bit of humanity to Boba Fett, even if you could see his plot twists coming a mile away. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Wesley | 1/10/2014

" The weakest writer of the three in the series. This one gets a pass though. Her self proclaimed godessness of Mandolarian culture rewrite (getting her the nickname "Travissty") doesn't really show up until later. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Jordan Lahn | 12/11/2013

" Took a while to get through this, but the ending was awesome. Interesting to see an aging Boba Fett, and discovering some of his family ties. Jacen's descent into Darkness feels believable as well. "

" After years of not reading Star Wars books, I bought this (without noticing that it was #2 in a series) because it had Boba Fett on the cover and I knew it had been mentioned on Penny Arcade. "

" Again, one of the best books I've ever read. This one made me cry. And trust me when I say I don't cry for books. But this one had me bawling. "

" The next big series after the New Jedi Order was a great read. It really delves into the consequences of the Yuuzhan Vong war. I could have done without the not-so-vague commentary on American politics, though. "

" What a great story arc this is! I like the new characters introduced in the last story arc, but now in a Star Wars setting. It's very interesting to see the problems when a small group of people, even just a family, are so powerful that their small issues can affect an entire galaxy. "
