" If you can only read one book on spiritual disciplines, I would recommend Whitney over Foster and Willard for biblical accuracy. "

" This is one of the top 3 books that has most impacted my walk with God. A wonderful, wonderful book. I have gone through it several times and have benefited from it every time. Many spiritual discipline books just make you feel guilty, but this one always motivates me and gives me very do-able suggestions for growing in the disciplines. "

" The information is good. It is not as good as Richard Foster's book, but it does give several different areas that can be considered for building spiritual discipline. The writing is not that engaging, so you have to work to read it, even though the subject matter and the information provided is invaluable. I will read it again and keep it as a resource. I recommend this book for those who are on a life journey of spiritual formation, growth and development. This recommendation is all inclusive. "

" An easy-to-read practical and insightful book on spiritual disciplines. Makes you rethink obvious things, such as needing to pray and be in the Word regularly. Definitely recommend for all Christians, whether you're a recent believer or a believer for years. "

" Way too baptistic. Not enough on the right use of the sacraments, weekly sabbath observance, church discipline, or liturgical discipline. Pretty heavy on individual self-discipline though. To that extent, it is helpful. "

" A decent book on the importance of the Spiritual Disciplines, from the Reformed perspective. Ultimately that means a lot of argumentation that shouldn't be necessary. "
