Meg Powell and Carson McKay were raised side by side on their families’ farms, bonded by a love that only deepened as they grew. Everyone in their small rural community in northern Florida thought that Meg and Carson would always be together. But at twenty-one, Meg was presented with a marriage proposal she could not refuse, forever changing the course of her life.

Seventeen years later, Meg’s marriage has become routine, and she spends her time juggling the demands of her medical practice, the needs of her widowed father, and the whims of her rebellious teenage daughter, Savannah, who is confronting her burgeoning sexuality in a dangerous manner and pushing her mother away just when she needs her most. Then, after a long absence, Carson returns home to prepare for his wedding to a younger woman. As Carson struggles to determine where his heart and future lie, Meg makes a shocking discovery that will upset the balance of everyone around her.

Unfolding with warmth and passion, Therese Fowler’s vibrant and moving debut illuminates the possibility of second chances, the naïve choices of youth, the tensions within families, and the wondrous designs of fate.

" I loved this book it was one that I could not put down and ended up reading through the night it was a quick read and was very touching. All of the lessons about living life to the fullest shone through and were very inspiring. A lost love reignited was truly one of the best parts of the entire story. "

" The beginning of this book was interesting enough, but suddenly it turned into Lifetime TV for Women. I finished the book to see where it was going but I really didn't enjoy it. Cheesy ending. The other problem is the author gave too much attention to the 'good' guys in the story. I would have loved to hear from Meg's husband point of view too. Does he really love her, how did her illness effect him, along with her decisions, etc. Certainly would have given the story a bit more depth, than just an absent husband. "

" read this one really quickly. fell into the story and really wanted to see what was going to happen with the characters. slightly predictable, but i still enjoyed it. good writing - which is sometimes hard to come by when you just want a 'light' read. wasn't super fond of savannah's charaacter. i know spoiled little rich girl and all that but she couldn't possibly be that stupid right? "

" This is a debut and a good one. Woman doctor, wealthy, successful etc with a 16 year old daughter who is rebelling finds she has ALS. This forces her to revisit some old choices she regrets and make some difficult new ones. Excellent read with some very sad moments. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Kari | 8/7/2013

" A good book to read during the summer because there isn't anything that the reader needs to think about. Story was okay. The teen angst was pretty cliche. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Erjanoco | 3/29/2013

" We discussed this one at our book club. No one gave it a real high rating on it. I couldn't wait for the end to come! A couple of the storylines where not believable. I am going to read her next book Reunion to see if it is any better.
If you like Jodi P. you will probably like her. "
