It seems like anytime a story comes from a non-white-male (so to speak) perspective, it's serious, heavy, and for older readers. So I was excited to read this funny, zany YA story. But it quickly became obvious that the storyline wasn't so interesting, the writing wasn't so great, and I found his representation of these teens almost offensively stereotyped. "

" Very fun book. Kind of reminds me of the TV show Reaper. The girl in the story must fight to regain her soul and her free will which was sold to the Devil when her now deceased Grandfather sold his soul for a Cadillac---and Bug was the co-signed if he defaulted. She gets a little help from a cute boy named Pesto and his Mama and uses her brains and her talents at basketball to work her way out of the situation. "

" This one was pretty good. Very fast paced. The style of writing was a little trying, but it passed the time and was enjoyable. "
