Soul Circus starts with a rented gun and moves into the vacuum created by the imprisonment of a D.C. crime lord. Two young dealers are fighting for the now unclaimed territory, prestige, and millions of dollars in future profits. Now the kid brother of one of those dealers is going to escalate the friction into wholesale slaughter.

Private investigators Derek Strange and Terry Quinn have found a woman whose testimony could make the difference between a death sentence and a return to the streets for the crime lord. First they have to get her to talk. Then they have to keep her alive. Download and start listening now!

" I have been reading a lot of Pelecanos lately. His love of music, automobiles and the rich social strata of DC shines through his work and makes for infectious reading. The ending (I won't give it away) felt out of place but was badass and satisfying from a political standpoint nonetheless. "

" Private Detective Strange is an intricately drawn, complex character with very human emotions and flaws, but also hard-learned wisdom. I feel educated and better off for hearing him speak on the subjects he is passionate about. Rich characters and a strong sense of place was just what I was looking for when I picked up this book, and Pelecanos does not disappoint. "

" The more I read of Pelecanos the more I come to like his terse, understated style. A great conclusion to the "Derek Strange Trilogy" "
