" I have been reading a lot of Pelecanos lately. His love of music, automobiles and the rich social strata of DC shines through his work and makes for infectious reading. The ending (I won't give it away) felt out of place but was badass and satisfying from a political standpoint nonetheless. "

" The PI team of Derek Strange and Terry Quinn handle a number of challenges in the downtrodden areas of Washington D.C. This novel portrays a gritty and realistic (to my view) of the drug culture of the city. The ending is both satisfactory and poignant. "
