Acclaimed Christian author Jerry Jenkins pens the startling prequel to the internationally best-selling Left Behind saga. After the horror of World War III, the world resolves to abolish religion. " Defiantly looking forward to the sequel...While the reviews stated that the book was preachy I didn't find it to be at all. Also it was a free nook book! Score! "

" This is a different take on end times than we see in the Left Behind books. It is causes you to think about what the persecution would be like if Christianity became illegal now. I am enjoying the story and the characters, but at times it feels rushed. I feel somewhat lost in some of the actions scenes and would love more description to clarify what action is taking place. It is neat how the story is tied to the life of Paul the apostle, being reminded of that helped me to believe that the main character's conversion could be so complete. "

" Love books that make me think what would happen if we had to live through the tribulation and not be raptured right away "

" Jenkins's writing has improved since the first Left Behind novel, but his characters remain flat and their motivations unconvincing. "

" This was like a bad rehash of the Left Behind book except with very flat characters I was completely uninterested in. I stopped after Chapter 5. "

" It held my interest and reminded me of what is to come. Maybe not every detail but certainly Christians will face great persecution. I feel encouraged to focus on the truths of the Bible as I read this book. It was good enough to push me to buy the second in the series,"Silenced". "

" Very similar to Jenkins' and LaHaye's Left Behind series. If you liked those, you'll like this one. "

" In a world where we are constantly yelling about our freedoms and our rights, what happens when our right to believe what we choose is no longer legal? This book will keep you on the edge of your seat. It will give you a lot to think about, especially the possibility of its reality. "

" This seemed more like a beginning work from a beginning writer who also happens to be the religious sort. The framework was there for a good story, but it lacked polish and the ending was a big fat letdown of no ending. Don't waste your time. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Lawrence | 12/1/2013

" As a Christian I loved the Left Behind Series both for its message and the action. But, while this book had a great message it had very little action. It was not a page turner and hardly peaked my interest. Sorry to say, I kept waiting for it to be over. "
