" This was an OK read. I have to say I like the main character, Carlotta Caryle, better than the book as a whole. She has a social conscience, plays Delta blues on her National steel guitar, a parakeet named Red Emma, and a cat who subscribes to Mother Jones and the New York Times Review of Books. "
