A con artist and seductress, Meredith Spooner lived fast - and died young. Now it seems Meredith's last scam - embezzling more than a million dollars from a college endowment fund - is coming back to haunt Leonora Hutton. An email just arrived in which Meredith - in fear for her life - explains that the money is waiting for Leonora in an offshore account ... and a safe-deposit key is on the way. Leonora wants nothing to do with the tainted money. She's already been accused of being in on the theft by Thomas Walker - who, it seems, was a victim of Meredith's knack for both scams and seductions. Eager to prove him wrong, Leonora sets out to collect the cash and hand it over. But she discovers two other items in the safe-deposit box. One is a book about Mirror House - a mansion filled with antique mirrors, where Meredith engineered her final deception. The other is a set of newspaper stories about a thirty-year-old murder that occurred there - unsolved to this day. Now Leonora has an offer for Thomas Walker. She'll hand over the money - if he helps her figure out what's happening. Meredith had described Walker as "a man you can trust." But in a funhouse-mirror world of illusion and distortion, Leonora may be out of her league. Download and start listening now!

" I am a big Jayne Ann Krentz fan ... and this novel was just the escape I needed in the middle of February's cold waiting for spring. Leonora, a college librarian, soon has her hands full - and her quiet life disrupted - with murder, mystery, a con artist, and a new romance. Krentz was one a college librarian ... and I'm sure her experiences gave her an inside track to help this book be a good one. "

" Jayne's books are very good if you can locate the non-paranormal ones. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Lauren Acton | 1/31/2014

" This book definitely had satisfying romance but the suspense was awkwardly plotted. It was clear that the first resolution wasn't the real one, even without Leonora's continued bad dreams, but after the mystery was "solved" the first time, I lost interest in the story. The mirror imagery throughout was pretty well done but the scene where our hero tells off Leonora's ex went on for FAR too long and gave me that embarrassed, want-to-stop-reading feeling. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Christine US | 1/23/2014

" Her books are so hit or miss with me...it's hard to guess ahead of time. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Harmony | 1/23/2014

" Overall it was fine, but I probably would have enjoyed it more as a regular book than as an audiobook. The cheesy voices killed it for me. Some good dialogue, a little creepiness. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Kim | 1/22/2014

" Ms Krentz invented a museum of mirrors/a name for a drug and then wrote a silly novel around it. "
