Still there are her beautiful younger sister, Tricia, with her cruel lies…Ken, Tricia’s handsome husband, who married the wrong sister…Jigger, the pimp and ruffian with plans of his own…and Cash, proud, mysterious, and complex. " This book was a little slow starting out for me. It did get better and I would have rated it a little higher, but I didn't always care for the behavior of the hero, Cash, who was a womanizer and chases after everything in a skirt. I did like Schyler who came home to a father she wasn't sure was going to live. Schyler slowly started to realize just how much things changed in the 6 years since she left home. As she tries to help her family she discovers family and community secrets that will affect the rest of her life, each small secret leads to a bigger one, each one rocking her own foundation along the way. Along the way Schyler does the right thing time and again, getting all that she wants in the end. "

" You can definitely tell this was an early Sandra Brown book. The plot twists were easily figured out and the characters weren't developed very much. It was still a decent book to listen to on my way to and from work though. It held my interest and I liked it, but I've definitely read better books by the same author. "

" This book was an utterly hateful book. It should not be classed as a romance. In no particualr order, the book had animal abuse, very unsettling racial views, misogyny, and extremely unlikeable protagonists. iCouldn't with this book. I really couldn't. "
