"I'm a sucker for the science vs. religion storyline. I love how in the first book he explained dust through religion, and in this one it is explained through science. I can't wait to see the two ideas meet in the third! "

" Very good book. Fast paced, well written, intriguing characters and never quite sure what is going to happen next. Looking forward to the conclusion. "

" A good follow up to Northern Lights which introduces a new character called Will. The one problem I had with this book was that I found Wills father a bit convenient when it came to plot details. Plus I found Lyra's parents a bit to special for their own good. "

" Didn't like how the main character plays second fiddle to this new one. Book is kind of slow compared to the first one, not much gets done. But I guess it's all being saved for the last one. "

" More His Dark Materials. This one is also fine, but lacks panserbjørne, and focuses too much on Will, who is less awesome than Lyra. The witches are great, but a lot of the plot is a little too convenient for my taste. On to the next one soon! "
