" Another fun entry in the Skulduggery series. Funny, scary, witty and exciting with a cliffhanger that will make you want to jump headlong into book 4. I find myself savoring each book in this series and regretting that I'm now one book closer to running out of Skuldiggery books to read. "

" This book left me wanting more! Not only are the characters hilarious, but you sort of grow to love them and are genuinely upset when something happens to them. Not to foreshadow anything. The cliffhanger ending was annoying but well played, seeing as you immediately want to move onto the next one. That's exactly what I am going to do. Loved it! "

About the Author
Author Derek Landy

Derek Landy is far too modest to talk about any accolades his books may have garnered. He will not, for instance, mention that his first book, Skulduggery Pleasant: Scepter of the Ancients, was named a Best Book for Young Adults by the American Library Association, or that it appeared on Oprah’s Book Club Kids Reading List, or that it was indeed a Publishers Weekly Best Book of the Year. Similarly, he gets downright embarrassed when he has to admit to the awards won by the follow-up Skulduggery novels: Playing with Fire and The Faceless Ones. It’s simply all too much for a simple lad from Ireland. Derek lives in Dublin with a variety of cats, a German Shepherd, and two arthritic Bull Terriers who keep peeing on his floor because they think it’s funny.

About the Narrator

Adam Sims, Earphones Award-winning narrator, is an actor who trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. His recordings for radio include Wenny Has Wings, The World According to Humphrey, and The Salamander Letter, all for the BBC. Film and theater credits include Band of Brothers on HBO; Lost in Space and The Madness of George III at the West Yorkshire Playhouse; Alice in Wonderland with the Royal Shakespeare Company; A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Regent’s Park; and Snake in Fridge at the Royal Exchange Theatre, for which he won the award for Best Actor at the Manchester Evening News Theatre Awards.
