Former Secret Service agents turned private investigators Sean King and Michelle Maxwell have seen their lives splinter around them. Michelle lies unconscious in a hospital bed after a night of suicidal violence. And Sean is forced to take on a thankless investigation into the murder of a scientist just inside the CIA's razor-wire fence near Williamsburg, Virginia. But they will need to team up again to stop a conspiracy of traitors operating in the shadow of the White House itself.

Soon he is uncovering layers of disinformation that shields a stunning world of elite mathematicians, physicists, war heroes, spies, and deadly field agents. Amid murder, a seemingly autistic girl's extraordinary genius, and a powerful breakthrough in the realm of classified codes, Sean learns enough to put his life at risk. Now, he needs Michelle, at her best, to help stop a conspiracy of traitors operating in the shadow of the White House itself.

From Michelle's courageous struggle to defeat her long-buried personal demons to a centuries-old secret that surfaces in the heat of the action, Simple Genius pulses with stunning, high-intensity suspense. The heroes of Split Second and Hour Game are back as you've never seen them before.

" The third book in the King-Maxwell series. It had a troubling start with Michelle having trouble adjusting to life ?!?! There was no indication that she had some trouble in life. Well Ok she likes keeping things messy. Then there is Babbage town... I think David Baldacci tied to pull a Dan Brown here but did not succeed, I found the technological stuff in Babbage town boring. But all that is left behind as the story races towards the end and it gets very interesting. I changed my whole opinion about the book because of the ending. "

" My favorite book ever! This mystery/thriller surrounding Camp Peary was very intriguing. Even though no one knows what goes on there with the CIA, it was cool to see Baldacci's imagination at work as to the goings on there. "

" Would have expected more from Baldacci really. The book started off quite thrilling but about mid-way took a sort of boring turn for the non-detailed expected turns of events. I liked the characters and the plot but the writing lost intrigue and focus somewhere along the way. "

" Pretty good action/mystery. Writing style is extremely fast-paced. I enjoyed this. "
