Han Solo returns in Scoundrels (Star Wars), the latest of the Star Wars novels. If you ever wondered what happened to Han between the destruction of the Death Star in Episode IV and his rescue of Luke on Hoth in Episode V, this book finally has the answer. When last we saw our hero, he had played an important part in the mission to destroy the first Death Star. The daring smuggler should be resting on the laurels of his latest achievement, or at the very least celebrating like everyone else. But Han has nothing to celebrate. He is deep in debt, has already lost the reward for his part in the mission, and now there is a bounty out for his life.
Just when it seems like all hope is lost, and even Han has given himself up for dead, a mysterious stranger approaches him with a proposal that could solve all of his problems. The stranger offers him more than enough money to pay his debts and have the bounty called off, if only he will do a single job. It's a simple enough task. All he has to do is infiltrate the futuristic fortress of the most powerful crime family in the galaxy, crack an uncrackable safe, and procure its contents for the stranger.
For the near-impossible task at hand, Han recruits his loyal sidekick Chewbacca, his friend (and eventual betrayer) Lando Calrissian, and a collection of other individuals who are just the right combination of confident and crazy for the job.

"Thanks Mr. Zahn! Great book with lots of plot twists. No doubts now that Han shot first! A fine addition to the Star Wars universe. After reading this book I kind of wish Disney would do the Thrawn trilogy instead of something completely different. I'm going back and read those three books asap."
