The 10th mystery in the popular Sammy Keyes series offers more spirit and adventure than ever!

Sammy accidentally makes a deadly mistake, but all clues point to her nemesis, Heather, and she gets blamed. As Sammy struggles with her conscience, she should confess, but there's a certain justice in Heather finally getting what she deserves, and she gets distracted helping an ailing senior citizen in her fight against urban renewal. There's a local council member who seems to be on both sides of the issue, and neighborhood vandalism that could be a clue to what's really at stake. While Sammy's trying to sort out those truths, her own haunt her, along with her feelings for Casey, Heather's brother, whom she's agreed to attend the Farewell Dance with on a non-date.

" Sammy keyes the 13 year old middle schooler now faces the biggest mystery yet as well as being destroyed by her arch enemy "

" I started this series when I was 9 years old. At age 20 I've outgrown a lot of things I used to read (ex: the Meg Cabot books I picked up in 6th grade), but for some reason not Sammy Keyes. It's distinctly Children's Lit and not YA, but it is still quite well written (It also contains some quite adult themes--I mean teenagers with meth labs? Pregnant teenagers looking for a way out of gangs? Homeless teens?) Sammy is mature, sharp and witty as always. This particular installment was more of a coming of age tale for Sammy than an intense mystery, but I enjoyed it and look forward to reading the next one. "

" I love all the books in this series, but this one is my favorite. Why? Because it's a 13 year-old girl kicking butt and taking names! This does have some romance, but the main story is the mystery. Sammy Keyes doesn't ask for trouble, but it seems to follow her, and she doesn't mind getting her hands dirty to solve a good mystery! Wendelin Van Draanen does an amazing job of tying together a 13 year-old girl's life, complete with 13 year-old girl problems and a suspenseful, intense mystery. I suggest for guys and girls, and I think you'll love it! "
