What legacy of the sacraments does the 20th century give to the 21st? Franciscan Father Kenan Osborne reviews three phases of 20th century sacramental theology and practice and shows how these concepts can affect the third millennium.
We've come a long way since the Second Vatican Council, Fr. Osborne says. Today our approach to sacraments is existential, that is when we celebrate a rite, God is speaking to us personally in those moments.
He says, As you experience God in that particular moment, you will say: That's what sacrament is all about.
