" I enjoyed this book in the continuing saga of Kinsey Millhone. I liked its traditional who-done-it mystery format. "

" This was a good page-turning kind of book with suspense. Similar to an action movie, it is interesting while reading it, but pretty quickly you will forget most of it afterward. Of the 3 Sue Grafton books I've "read" (I listen to these in the car) I like this one the least because it seemed to have less going on outside of the main plot. "

" I enjoyed the story, but the large number of characters spanning three generations in a small town made it impossible for me to keep track of them all. "

The mystery was hard to believe and anticlimactic, and there were so many suspects that i didn't care who the killer was by the time of the big reveal. Glad I only checked it out of the library, instead of buying as I usually would with a Kinsey Millhone. "

" I can never keep track of which of this series I've read - but they're usually enjoyable enough. Certainly good enough to while away a journey or 2. It is strange how old-timey it feels - since Grafton has resolutely maintained her decision to keep things set in 1987 - 24 shorts years ago and it feels approximately as distant as the Victorian era!
