Gwyneth Shepherd's sophisticated, beautiful cousin Charlotte has been prepared her entire life for traveling through time. But unexpectedly, it is Gwyneth who, in the middle of class, takes a sudden spin to a different era!

Gwyneth must now unearth the mystery of why her mother would lie about her birth date to ward off suspicion about her ability, brush up on her history, and work with Gideon, the time traveler from a similarly gifted family that passes the gene through its male line, and whose presence becomes, in time, less insufferable and more essential. Together, Gwyneth and Gideon journey through time to discover who, in the 18th century and in contemporary London, they can trust.

" This book is probably the first real book I have ever read and I was hooked instantly. It's a book with a real story which drags you into it. All about this book screams fantasy and romance, so if you like those genres this is the perfect book. I read this book in dutch but of course thats not the original language. Mostly reading the book in the original language is the best but i can't read german. This is a great book and I would recommend it to everybody. My mom read it too, she loved it too so thats good. I read this book in a week which is strange because mostly when I read little books for school it already takes me one year which i don't have. Great, incredible book :) "

" I wavered between three and four stars on this. On the one hand, the time-travel component fascinated me and kept me reading. On the other hand, the romance and the teen drama was stupid and annoying. I did like that the heroine was an ordinary girl who had this time travel ability thrust upon her with no prior warning. A fun vacation book! "

" Very entertaining. The pacing was nice, considering it's a trilogy. Just enough information to get you on the hook, but not so much that you're left wondering why on earth it needs to be three books instead of just two. I liked that the supernatural aspects were already established - Gwen comes from a family of time travelers and knows that, even if the fact that she is one herself is somewhat unexpected. We still get to follow along with her as she works everything out, but there are answers right away instead of just annoyed confusion. I did think some of the stuff with her an Gideon was a bit rushed, but aside from that I liked it a lot. I would have liked her non-time traveling life to have been a bit more fleshed out, though, but maybe that will happen in the other books. "

" 3.5 stars - I really enjoyed it, but I also thought it felt like a very long prologue to an interesting story. The book just seemed to be getting started, and then it ended. Hmpf. "

" I liked this book, but it wasn't my favorite. It took me awhile to get into it. It is about time travel and is a teen novel, not as good as Shiver series by far. But, saying this I am interested enough to look for the next book in the series and would like to finish them all. "
