Publisher Description

Okay, so cats don't always land on their feet....

I know that better than most. Since rejoining the Pride, I've made big decisions and even bigger mistakes: the kind paid for with innocent lives. As the first and only female enforcer, I have plenty to prove to my father, the Pride, and myself. And with murdered toms turning up in our territory, I'm working harder than ever, though I always find the energy for a little after-hours recreation with Marc, my partner both on and off duty.

But not all my mistakes are behind me. We're beginning to suspect that the dead are connected to a rash of missing human women, and that they can all be laid at my feet - two or four, take your pick. And one horrible indiscretion may yet cost me more than I can bear.

"I struggled rating this one...it probably should be somewhere between a 3 and 4. Personally, I didn't think it was as good as "Stray" but I'm not sorry I read it. It was a little predictable and I didn't like all the drama between Faythe and Marc. With the cliffhanger ending, though, I'll likely be back for "Pride" in the fall..."

" Better than the first...still too long...but I am hooked now. I will read the rest of the series. The main character frustrates me- I have a hard time relating to her. The author has given me hope that she will mature and ending the second book with a huge cliffhanger was clever. "

" 3.5 stars. I don't like this series, but...I do? I liked it enough to order the two other books tonight after I finished with the 2nd...hated that ending....so I will plow on. It won't be a bother ;) to much. "

" I have mixed feelings about this series. The plot is there with the potential of great characters. Faythe is whiny, and selfish, and at times really stupid. this book is better then the last, and I will continue to the next book, but just barely. Hope the next one picks up. "

" This series is a pleasant surprise. The differences from most shifter books help it stand out. It is about cat shifters. Women are in very short supply and thus highly prized. The female lead is being groomed to lead the pride. Looking forward to reading more of this series. "

" Great book. I read it in one afternoon - couldn't put it down. Shifters & sex is a good combination in my opinion. I would have given the book 5 stars if there was a teensy bit more depth to the characters but I must say it is improving as we get to know them in each book. "
