Publisher Description

The man, the legend, and now the audiobook. One of the greatest stories of all time! More than nine-and a half hours of listening.

The story of Robin Hood was re-told on the big screen in 2010, with Russell Crowe and Cate Blachett in the lead roles. However, this audiobook is not associated with that or any other of the various movie or TV adaptations. It is the classic Robin Hood story, as told by Paul Creswick.

It's all here: the story of how Robin lost his birthright as the King's Ranger at Locksley; his archery feats at Nottingham; the outlaws' war with the Sheriff; Robin's pursuit of Marian; and many tales of bravery, rescue, laughter, and rivalry with Little John, Friar Tuck, Allan-a-Dale, Much the Miller, Will Scarlett, and all the others. Now you can have this incomparable story read to you, in a gripping full stereo audiobook.

The story presented here is adapted from the Paul Creswick text. It is faithful to the entire original story, but with the language updated for the 21st-century listener.

"Apparently originally published in 1903 and written based on myths and legend, the book reads as if it were written in the time of Richard the Lion Heart. It's fun and just colloquial enough to seem authentic. A very good tale! "

" This is a really good retelling of Robin Hood's life. Sometimes I had to reread to get the jist of what they were saying due to it being written in "old English". The end was kinda lacking too, but otherwise I loved it. "

" Written in like 1902 or something eh? The old English lingo and setting is a welcome escape from ones own world (thats the point of reading isn't it?) Though, I wish I'd never heard of Robin Hood before and this would have been a lot more fun. It was still a good read with plenty of blood. "

" I have read several renditions of Robin Hood and this one was not a favorite. It seemed to drone on a bit and focused too much on the meeting of characters rather than the action of dealing with Robin Hood's situations. "

" Great book to read to children. The N.C. Wyeth illustrations are very vivid and add to the rendering of the story. "
