Back in Ellsworth High there was definitely no one weirder than Melvin. All the kids made fun of the way he dressed, the way he acted, everything about him. Vicki was the only one who stood up for him, buteven she was horrified when he dug up a dead body and tried to bring it back to life with power from a car battery. That was years ago, but Vicki still has nightmares about Melvin. Now she's back in Ellsworth and she knows she'll have to see Melvin again. He's just been released from the institution and he's acting even weirder than ever. His experiments with the dead have progressed, and as soon as he can get Vicki where he wants her, he can make his mosttwisted dream a reality.

" AS usual with Laymon, I found this book gorey, horrific and down right fun to read! Laymon's books are like watching a cheesy B horror flick; one of my all-time favorite pasttimes...yeah, you need a vivid imagination and a suspension of reality to get 'sucked in', but boy oh boy, is it worth it! "

" Being one of my top 5 all-time authors, this Richard Laymon book isn't one of his better ones. In fact, it ranks among his worst... which is actually better than most other horror authors. However, the villain is not very interesting and the ending is very rushed. If you want classic Laymon that is currently available in stores, try IN THE DARK or ISLAND. The other thing that bothered me is the copy editing. This book has been re-released numerous times so there is no reason for all the spelling errors. This isn't Richard Laymon's fault. The guys over at Leisure Books shouldn't be giving this material to the interns to edit. "

" This was the very first book by Laymon that I'd ever read. Instantly I was hooked, I just couldn't put the book down. Laymon has a way of keeping you on your toes. "
