Red Cullens has gone from hot mama to Grandmama quicker than a hummingbird's wink
Unruly Red knows she's no one's idea of a sweet old granny. But with one long-distance phone call, the fortysomething bar owner with the tattoos and tight jeans is suddenly responsible for two young grandchildren she hardly knows.
Red's rowdy friends, late-night lifestyle and tiny apartment above her San Antonio saloon definitely aren't kidproof. And Red's pretty sure the hot young fiddle player she's been dallying with will run for the hills when he learns she has a daughter, let alone grandkids.
But Red is about to learn that age doesn't necessarily come with wisdom; that a nine-year-old girl can be as exacting as the strictest parent. That the school of hard knocks never had bake sales. And that her boy toy is more of an adult than she is.

"Read Red's Hot Honky-Tonk Bar by Pamela Morsi for an author's best interpretation of James Dean's quote, "Dream as if you'll live forever, Live as if you'll die tomorrow." Loved it! There is so much more to the characterizations of this title than I ever expected and I wish I could spend more time with each of them." — Ferne (4 out of 5 stars)

" I liked the military aspects of this story. "
" I have read Pamela Morsi for years.Easy, enjoyable romances with honest characters. Perhaps not great literature but good escapism.Relaxing. "
" Great characterization! I liked the way it turned the romance stereotypical sex roles around. "
" A nice change of pace from the standard feel good chic lit fiction. A fictional story about people with real life problems and real complications from them. A well written and enjoyable short novel. I have already bought her other book and expect to enjoy it as well. "
" Not my normal read but tried it just for a change and found a contemporary romance that treated adult relationship in a very real way. I could identify with the characters and find them believable. My redneck roots may be showing a bit with this one. "
" Alright, going to try to write a more diplomatic review here...let's see. I was trying to give the benefit of the doubt to a couple colleagues who have been recommending this book like it's the next great American novel. Well...at least the writing wasn't as bad as Twilight. Still not really my "cup of tea." My favorite line in the book: "Tonight I'm going to polish that worn old vinyl with your sweet armadillo." Yeah, really, there isn't much to say after that.... "
" Thoroughly enjoyed this book - love finding a nice summer read & getting a story with a little depth to it as a bonus. "
" Loved it, loved Red, loved Cam - loved everyone! This made me cry but it also made me feel good! "
" I really loved these characters.I'd like to see a follow up book. "
" Nice story, probably more like 3.5 stars for me but overall a quick non-complicated read. "
" This one headed a bit more toward women's fiction rather than straight romance. In fact Borders sells it as General Fiction. I liked it in general. The older woman/younger man thing was pretty well done. "
" Oh, so good!!!! Very much a San Antonio flavor. And I cried the last 50 pages! "
" meh. decent enough story line, if a little predictable. "
" a cute simple read that you could read over a weekend with a couple of cups of tea, kind of obvious, it followed very much A to B. You knew what was going to happen, it was really obvious, but, just a cute story. "
" I loved this book. Red is such a survivor and a fire-cracker to boot. I cried and I laughed and I really enjoyed the entire story. "
" cute enough story, a bit cookie-cutterish and predictable, but I enjoyed it! "
" I really enjoyed this book. The main character runs a bar, dates a younger man and suddenly finds her 2 grandchildren on her doorstep because mom is overseas in the service. How they all cope with the situation is really a nice story. "
" Quick easy read that was pretty predictable but enjoyable! It was set in Texas, which I always enjoy, but the characters were not so over the top! "
" This was a nice read. There were times I actually was smiling during the read. This is definitely one I would recommend to my friends. "
" I like the Morsi books that present a culture, I'm having a hard time with how to state this but this book and (even more) "the Lovesick Cure" are examples. This book made me think of Barbara O'Neal's books. Romantic but not primarily romances and strongly character driven. I really like this style. "
" Really excellent book with lots to think about. I loved the character of Olivia. She was so much like her grandmother Red. Great plot twists and mucho interesting! "
" Fun, but my favorite of Pam Morsi's is Simple Jess. "
" Amiable. Nothing bad about the book, but also nothing particularly worrisome or insurmountable involved in the plot. Things got worked out with all the situations pretty easily. "
" not bad.. i've enjoyed some of her other books better. this is def a chicklit feel good sort of book. "
