Publisher Description

Blamed for a heinous crime and banished from his tribe of Jaguar shifters, Adriano will do anything to buy back his rightful place - even steal a priceless artifact. First, he'll have to seduce Sophie Martin, an archaeologist researching the temple ruins and the one person who stands in his way.

Sophie wants to uncover the artifact as well - not to sell it, but to study it. It could unlock all the secrets of an ancient and mysterious civilization. But it's hard to focus on her work when the distractingly sexy Adriano is nearby.

What begins as a seduction quickly turns into mutual passion as Adriano's touch awakens a side of Sophie she'd kept hidden - and arouses his Jaguar instincts. To preserve his people's secret and earn his redemption, Adriano needs the artifact. But when a rival thief kidnaps Sophie, Adriano will be forced to choose between the people who rejected him in the past, or the woman who could be his future...

"I really enjoyed reading some King that wasn't really pure horror. Not that I don't love his gruesome and brilliantly horrifying stories, I eat them up. But Apt Pupil, The Club, Shawshank and The Fall of Innocence (A.K.A Stand by Me in film), were great in their own way. You don't always need to rip someone's throat out in order to create thrill. I think my favorite was either Shawshank of the Fall of Innocence. His characters are all perfect, even in their flaws. King continues to wow me and I will continue to be a neverending fan."

" Four stories of various lengths including Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption and The Body (known as Stand by Me) which were made into best selling films. Always weaving a good tale, King gives us stories of friendship, endurance and something slightly spooky. "

" One of my favorite books by King. Four novellas, set and told in the mood of each season. Each one, except for the last, have been adapted into a film, including Stand by Me and The Shawshank Redemption. "

" Recommended reading for everyone who thinks SK is just a horror hack. The best film adaptations of his work are from this book (Shawshank redemption, Apt Pupil, The Body/Stand by Me). It reinforces my sense that the good part of King's work has always been characterisation and setting, not cheap thrills. "

" Had to read this book for a literature course in college. 2 of the 4 short stories that I read had inspired the movies "Stand By Me" and "Shawshank Redemption" (great movies). The last story was a little dark and I did not enjoy it. This was one of the only fictional books that I have ever completed and have told many others about. Stephen King is not just a horror novelist. These stories rock! "
