Publisher Description

War with their archrival, the evil Ansara clan, is unavoidable. For Mercy Raintree, a war means she must assume her position as guardian of the Sanctuary: the sacred Raintree home place deep in the Smoky Mountains. But doing so threatens to disclose her most prized secret, one Mercy has kept to herself for six years.

As the solstice looms, and the battle heats up, Dranir Judah Ansara gathers his forces, intending to wipe every Raintree from the face of the land. Including Mercy, whom he's claimed as his to kill. Then he comes face-to-face with her - and with her daughter, Eve. Will Mercy's closely guarded secret change not only the outcome of the battle, but also Judah's own bitter heart?

"The final book of a really cool trilogy, and this one tells of Sanctuary, where even children should be safe, but danger lurks in dark. Two groups have to form a truce and learn to live with one another, not attempting to destroy the other group all the time. Good storyline, and I enjoyed reading this series."

" This was my least favorite of the three, but it was still good. Judah was sometimes a jack, but he redeemed himself in the end. The end was good, the battle interesting, but a bit of a let down in the closing words. "

" The finale in the Raintree series from Nocturne. As with several sequel books I've read lately, I thought the ending was too easy and came without enough struggle to satisfy me. My second favorite of the three, though, and I do enjoy Ms. Barton's writing. "
