War with their archrival, the evil Ansara clan, is unavoidable. For Mercy Raintree, a war means she must assume her position as guardian of the Sanctuary: the sacred Raintree home place deep in the Smoky Mountains. But doing so threatens to disclose her most prized secret, one Mercy has kept to herself for six years.

As the solstice looms, and the battle heats up, Dranir Judah Ansara gathers his forces, intending to wipe every Raintree from the face of the land. Including Mercy, whom he's claimed as his to kill. Then he comes face-to-face with her - and with her daughter, Eve. Will Mercy's closely guarded secret change not only the outcome of the battle, but also Judah's own bitter heart? " The final book of a really cool trilogy, and this one tells of Sanctuary, where even children should be safe, but danger lurks in dark. Two groups have to form a truce and learn to live with one another, not attempting to destroy the other group all the time. Good storyline, and I enjoyed reading this series. "

" This trilogy was loads of fun. Each book was written by a different author. "

" this is the finale of the 3 raintree books and it brings it all together. I expected the ending to be as it was but it was still very good twists and turns. "

" This is the final story if this trilogy. I didn't like it as much as the first two. The sex was not romantic or loving. The battle was predictable. I was a disappointment. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Kallie M | 6/29/2013

" This was my least favorite of the three, but it was still good. Judah was sometimes a jack, but he redeemed himself in the end. The end was good, the battle interesting, but a bit of a let down in the closing words. "

" The finale in the Raintree series from Nocturne. As with several sequel books I've read lately, I thought the ending was too easy and came without enough struggle to satisfy me. My second favorite of the three, though, and I do enjoy Ms. Barton's writing. "

" I was happy to find out how everything came together, but I was disappointed in the haste of the ending. I felt like the author could have spent a little more time on the moment that all three book lead into. "

" Sorry to have to read the third book of the trilogy before the second one -- enjoyably light reading -- paranormal -- Now, I have to wait for our fine library system to find the second one and bring it here so I can learn the story of Gideon -- the "other brother". "
