Publisher Description

Louie Cogburn had spent three days holed up in his apartment, staring at his computer screen. His pounding headache was unbearable - like spikes drilling into his brain. And it was getting worse. Finally, when someone knocked at his door, Louie picked up a baseball bat, opened the door, and started swinging... The first cop on the scene fired his stunner twice and Louie died instantly. Detective Eve Dallas has taken over the investigation, but there's nothing to explain the man's sudden rage or death. The only clue is a bizarre message left on his computer screen: Absolute Purity Achieved. And when a second man dies under nearly identical circumstances, Dallas starts racking her brain for answers and for courage to face the impossible...that this might be a computer virus able to spread from machine to man...

"Oooh, this one had a lot more going on behind the scenes than Reunion in Death had and a lot more going on in general. I thought it was really great how we got to see Eve and Roarke disagreeing in something that was the base of the case Eve was working on instead of just disagreeing on some aspects of it. It showed that even thought they're married, neither has to like what the other one thinks but hey get through it anyway. McNab and Peabody were so sweet and great together here that I just wanted to take them home and care for them. Jamie was a very nice surprise and adition - if a temporary one - to the team. Feeney rules. Another awesome story!"

" Great detective story. I listened to this as an audiobook because I love the voice acting she does for this series. It really brings the characters to life. I definitely plan to listen to and read the rest of this series. I've read/listened to all the ones up to this one so far already =) "

" What a fascinating concept.Clever, clever JD Robb does it again. Tight writing balancing geek speak with plain language. Peaks at all the characters we've come to know & care for. Computer virus that lives up to its name by infecting the wetware. (An attempt to minimize any spoiler) "

" To read an "in Death"... is to love the characters. Its best to start from the begining and grow with them. You actually start to think of them as friends. Roberts is by far the best writer of this century. Keep them coming. "
