Promise Audiobook (Unabridged)

" I succumbed to Amazon's Kindle Deal of the Day and bought Promise after reading glowing reviews from readers. Somehow I missed the part where this is YA/Teen lit. The story is interesting, but slow moving in terms of doling out the big reveal. Ultimately, this is a teen-to-early-young-adult read. I'm too old and far too jaded to read Tristan and Alexis' declarations of love without smirking. Shame on me -- but there it is. This is a good book for the right demographic because it deals with issues of good vs. evil, heritage, redemption and young love. I can't fault the writing or the subject matter. I just don't relate to the angst of a 19-yr.-old. I'd put this book in the same category as the Twilight series--and that was a huge success (but I didn't relate to it, either!) "
